Roadmap
JetReader is still in a very early version. I'd love to hear your feedback if you have any!
Below is a very coarse roadmap, which will be updated and made more detailed once I get a bit of feedback.
For more details, see the full todo list.
What more would you like?I have implemented most of the features I wanted myself. What haven't I thought about?
Support for more file formatsWhich file formats do you want support for?
Support for iOSThe app is created using a multi-platform framework, so iOS support shouldn't be too hard to add.
Act as wireless Calibre deviceBy letting the app act as a wireless Calibre device, we can easily send books between the device and Calibre.
Better online stats presentationI want to improve on the stats presentation on the web page. What is interesting? What can be simplified? What can be added?
Web page with online stats presentationWeb page with information about the app, and a basic presentation of synchronized statistics.
First version ready for public testingBasic eReader app that can open .epub, .html, .txt, .fb2, .mobi and .azw files. A Calibre browser that lets you connect to a Calibre content server, and download the books you want. Settings for periodic automatic downloading of anything new. Collects how many words read, how much time spent reading, how many times the book was opened/closed. Import stats from Moon+ or a flexible CSV format. Dictionary lookup and AI-based explanations.
Development and internal testingStarted development of JetReader in May 2019. Started using the app personally in January 2022. After that, I have been slowly adding features I wanted, and generally improving stuff.
